Introduction:
Infection control (IC) is a quality standard, which is essential for the well being and safety of patients, staff and visitors in health care institutes. It affects most departments of the hospital and involves issues of quality, risk management, clinical governance and health and safety.
An infection control program with a firm structure should be applied in all institutions that provide health care services in order to establish a managed environment that secures the lowest possible rate of hospital acquired infection and to protect staff and visitors from unnecessary risks.
Objectives:
At the end of this program each participant will gain the proper knowledge and skills as well as gain the positive attitude that enables him/her to:
Understand of the world of microbiology, which will then enable him/her to formulate a management strategy to care for infectious patients and prevent further spread of disease.
Lead infection prevention and control services and be capable of developing, implementing, supervising and auditing a comprehensive infection prevention and control program in different healthcare facilities.
Be capable of working within the integrated programs of quality assurance and accreditation.
Target Group:
Physicians in all specialties, infection control teams, all healthcare providers in different healthcare facilities (nurses, technicians, employees).
