During auscultation of the heart the 2nd right interspace is the best position to listen for a murmur associated with which one of the following?

Mitral regurgitation.
Ventricular septal defect.
Mitral stenosis.
Aortic regurgitation.
Aortic stenosis.

*** Aortic stenosis is the correct answer ***.

Explanation

During auscultation of the heart the 2nd right interspace is the best position to listen for a murmur associated with aortic stenosis.

For mitral regurgitation, the best position is apex of heart.

Ventricular septal defect would best be heard at the left sternal edge.

Mitral stenosis is best heard at the apex of heart.

Aortic regurgitation is best heard at left sternal edge.

Heart Attack vs. Cardiac Arrest vs. Heart Failure

A heart attack is when blood flow to the heart is blocked#,
and sudden cardiac arrest is when the heart malfunctions and suddenly stops beating unexpectedly#.
A heart attack is a “circulation” problem and sudden cardiac arrest is an “electrical” problem.

Heart failure is a condition in which the heart can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. In some cases, the heart can't fill with enough blood. In other cases, the heart can't pump blood to the rest of the body with enough force.
