If you're looking for methods to stop snoring you may be interested in learning what over-the counter nasal dilators, such as Noson strips can improve the quality of your breathing while you sleep. They function by opening the nostril passage, or nasal passage to increase airflow through your nose. However, are these nasal dilators suitable for you? They may help with sleep apnea. They can be used to treat sleep apnea. Learn more about the device and determine whether they're worthy of your time.

The basics of Nasal Dilators
There are two types. There is one for the nasal dilators. They allow the nostrils to open or nasal passage from the outside. The other is one is from the inside. The external dilator typically comprised of a thin strip of adhesive that has been applied to the nose with adhesive. It works much like the stiffened Band Aid. Noson nasal strips are the most popular but there are many other alternatives.

Nasal dilation occurs when you pull the nostrils wide and the sides of your nose open. It's similar to lifting the sides on a peaked tent to increase the area inside. This may reduce snoring and increase breathing. A greater flow of air through your nose could be the reason. In ideal circumstances, a stream of air would enter through a fully open nose, pass through the throat and past the base of the tongue, and then enter the lung. If the nose gets blocked, it could be due to anatomical issues, congestion due to a deviated septum, congestion caused by allergies or a cold or a cold, then a tiny amount of air would come in instead. The result is turbulent airflow similar to a small and filled with rocks. The airflow could cause vibration within the throat, specifically the soft palate or uvula tissues. A nasal dilator may increase the airflow to the nose and slow down the turbulent airflow. Click for new stop snoring devices remedy here.

Noson Strips and Snoring: A study of 30 snorers discovered that nasal dilatation external to the nose like the Noson strip, worked in decreasing the intensity of snoring, as determined using a polysomnogram (sleep study). These dilators worked best when the snorers had no other medical condition that could affect their ability to breathe during sleep. There are mixed outcomes from other studies that have examined the efficacy of these therapies. Noson strips showed a slight improvement in sleep apnea, however, not enough to bring about significant improvement in snoring.

Side Effects from Noson Strips
In addition to a possible allergic reaction to the adhesive that is used in external nasal dilators, or skin damage after removal of the strips, are there any dangers of adverse reactions with either of these types of products? The nasal dilator can improve the snoring, but not sleep apnea. The use of nasal dilator strips in order to alleviate symptoms could give the patient an illusion of confidence in its effectiveness. Provent, a prescription drug as well as Theravent which is a non-prescription option are also available. After drawing air into the nose and reducing the amount of air that is exhaled. They increase the volume the airway, which helps to maintain it. This helps to reduce the amount of snoring.
